Locally owned by Wade Kammin, a lifelong bird lover, Wild Birds Unlimited of Springfield, Illinois, has been helping people bring the joy of bird feeding into their backyards since 1993. What started as a small shop has grown into a welcoming community resource for bird lovers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates the beauty of wildlife right outside their window.

Our team consist of people who all live right in the area, and many of them have been with us for decades, with more than 125 years of combined experience. 

From the very beginning, our mission has been simple: to bring people and nature together, and do it with excellence. We offer expert advice, quality products, and a passion for education to make your bird-feeding experience easy, fun, and rewarding. Whether you’re new to bird feeding or a lifelong birder, our team is here to help you find the perfect feeders, seed blends, and solutions for your yard, as well as to troubleshoot any challenges from critters. 

Over the years, we’ve been honored to become a trusted local resource for birding knowledge and backyard habitat tips. More than just a store, we’re a place where people gather to share stories, learn about nature, and celebrate the incredible variety of birds that call central Illinois home. We are happy to be able to give back to the community, offering seminars to garden groups and other clubs, and donating year-round supplies of feeders and bird food to area nature centers.
