Whether purchasing a feeder for your own yard or for gift giving, WBU has a huge selection from which to choose. Understanding the various types can help you decide which is best for you.

classic feeder 1. Foundational Seed Feeders
These are the feeders we suggest for folks just starting out, i.e. the "foundation" of a feeding program. Filled with one of our WBU premium seed blends or a specific individual seed, these traditional hoppers (house shaped), seed tubes, and open tray feeders can attract many species of birds, including Cardinals. Choosing a feeder that has ample perching space and holds at least 3-4 days worth of food means more species can feed, while reducing the frequency of refilling for you.

2. Finch Feeders
Goldfinches prefer to feed away from other birds and enjoy different seeds. Tube feeders with tiny seeds ports, steel mesh tubes, and fabric "socks" are all popular ways of serving Finch Mix (our top pick) or Nyjer seed.

cylinder 3. Suet, Peanut, Seed & Nut Cylinder (shown), or Bark Butter Feeders
These high fat, high energy foods will draw woodpeckers, Carolina wrens, nuthatches and more. WBU offers dozens of ways of serving these foods.

4. Mealworm Feeders
Mealworms are a great way of attracting robins, bluebirds, and wrens during winter months. Live mealworms get the quickest response, but our dried mealworms prove to be a hit during snows.

5. Fruit and Nectar Feeders
While nectar is reserved for warmer weather, fresh or dried fruit is favored by robins and
mockingbirds all year long.

Within each category of feeders, there are many models available (most made in the

USA), including subcategories of squirrel-proof, decorative, and more.
